Florida baseball secures commitment from ASUN Player of the Year Jon Embury

Florida baseball has gained its first commitment from the transfer portal with the signing of Jon Embury, a standout catcher from Florida Gulf Coast University. Embury, named the ASUN Player of the Year, had an impressive sophomore season, batting.364 with 17 home runs and 80 RBIs, along with a.993 fielding percentage. He was a semifinalist for the Buster Posey Award and is considered a top 100 prospect for the MLB Draft. With two catchers, Karson Bowen and Cole Stanford, exhausting their eligibility, Embury's arrival bolsters the team's depth behind the plate. Florida is also set to bring back AJ Malzone and welcome freshman Luke Labbe to the roster.
