Florida football emphasizes local recruits in new recruiting strategy

Under coach Jon Sumrall, Florida football has altered its recruiting methods, placing greater focus on local prospects. In-state commitments for the 2027 class include top-ranked players such as quarterback Davin Davidson and wide receiver Eias Pearl. Sumrall's staff has been characterized by energetic communication and a selective approach to offers, cultivating strong relationships with recruits. The Gators are also looking ahead to the 2028 class, where they are already pursuing standout players, including quarterback Hudson West from Sarasota.
