Florida football is out of the US LBM Top 25 coaches poll following a 38-19 loss to South Carolina on October 10. The Gators, now 4-2 overall and 2-2 in SEC play, had reached as high as No. 8 earlier this season after a strong start. However, back-to-back defeats to Missouri and South Carolina have dropped them from the rankings. Florida coach Jon Sumrall acknowledged the team's shortcomings, stating that recent losses have exposed critical issues. The Gators will attempt to bounce back when they face No. 6 Texas on October 17.
