Florida football offense records 624 yards in opening victory against Florida Atlantic

Florida defeated Florida Atlantic 66-21 in its season opener on September 5 at The Swamp. The offense produced 624 total yards, including 343 passing and 281 rushing, marking the highest scoring output for a Florida season opener since 1994. Running back Duke Clark stated the team practiced 10,000 variations of plays during the offseason to prepare for the new offensive scheme implemented by coordinator Buster Faulkner. Quarterback Aaron Philo threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns in his debut with the program. Despite the success, Faulkner noted the team must improve its snap count timing and physical play before the next matchup. The Gators are scheduled to play Campbell on September 12 at 5:30 p.m.
