Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand publicly ridiculed the Ottawa Senators on social media regarding their search for a new team captain. Responding to reports that Thomas Chabot, Tim Stutzle, and Jake Sanderson are the primary candidates to replace former captain Brady Tkachuk, Marchand posted a dismissive remark about Stutzle. The Ottawa Senators are currently in the process of selecting a new leader following the trade of Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers earlier this year. Marchand, who joined the Florida Panthers following a 2025 trade from the Boston Bruins, remains under contract through a six-year extension. While the Senators navigate their leadership transition, the Florida Panthers are preparing for the upcoming season with an roster bolstered by the addition of Brady Tkachuk alongside existing players Matthew Tkachuk and Sasha Barkov.
