Florida receiver Eric Singleton Jr. leaves game against FAU with ankle injury

Florida wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. remained on the sidelines for the duration of the Gators' 66-21 victory over Florida Atlantic on Saturday. Singleton sustained an ankle injury during the first quarter while blocking for a 49-yard touchdown run by Vernell Brown III. Although he stayed dressed in uniform, he did not return to the field after the play. Florida coach Jon Sumrall indicated that the staff attempted to clear the player to continue, but the severity of the injury remained uncertain following the game. Sumrall noted that he expects to have a more comprehensive status update on the receiver by Monday.
