The Florida State Seminoles host the No. 19 SMU Mustangs at Doak Campbell Stadium on Monday to begin ACC play. The matchup serves as a significant hurdle for Florida State, which aims to secure its first conference win following a season-opening victory against the New Mexico State Aggies. Since joining the ACC in 2024, the Mustangs have established a 14-2 conference record, including previous wins over Florida State, the Miami Hurricanes, and the Clemson Tigers. Florida State faces a challenging schedule, with an upcoming game against the Alabama Crimson Tide, making this home contest vital for the team's season trajectory. The Seminoles must contend with an SMU defense that ranked fourth nationally in red zone scoring percentage last season, alongside an offense led by quarterback Kevin Jennings and running back Kendrick Raphael.
