Florida State offers scholarship to 2029 edge recruit Dotarius Washington

Florida State extended a scholarship offer to four-star edge prospect Dotarius Washington on September 3, 2026. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound sophomore from Alabama is ranked as the No. 33 player nationally and the No. 5 edge recruit in his class by 247Sports. Washington previously earned offers from several notable programs, including the Miami Hurricanes, Florida Gators, Texas A&M Aggies, Tennessee Volunteers, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. As a freshman, he recorded 22 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, and one blocked punt. Early in his sophomore campaign, he has posted 15 tackles, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and one pass breakup across two games. Florida State is expected to pursue a campus visit for the Alabama native to further his recruitment.
