Flyers offer Leo Carlsson $90 million as Ducks consider response

The Philadelphia Flyers have tendered a five-year, $90 million offer sheet to Leo Carlsson of the Anaheim Ducks on July 3. If accepted, the deal will make Carlsson the highest-paid player in the NHL with an average annual value of $18 million. The Ducks have seven days to match the offer or will receive four first-round draft picks as compensation. Carlsson, selected second overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, scored 29 goals and 67 points in 70 games last season. Ducks GM Pat Verbeek previously indicated he would match any offers for Carlsson, pending his assessment of this significant proposal.
