Folarin Balogun eligible to play for USA vs. Belgium after red-card reversal

Summary

Folarin Balogun is available for the USA men's national team in their Round of 16 match against Belgium on July 6, 2026, in Seattle. FIFA has suspended his one-match red card issued in the previous round, allowing him to participate. The red card was awarded after a VAR review for a foul that initially went unpunished on the field. FIFA's Article 27 allows for the suspension of disciplinary measures, suggesting a reconsideration of Balogun's situation. U.S. Soccer has not provided a statement regarding this decision, leaving some aspects unclear.
