Football recruits select Auburn, Clemson; Beachside athlete wins weightlifting title

Two rising seniors from Northeast Florida have committed to major college football programs. Ponte Vedra kicker Noah Ash announced on June 1 his commitment to Auburn, choosing the Tigers over multiple offers, while Atlantic Coast edge rusher Desmond Malpress committed to Clemson on the same day. Ash is rated as the nation’s No. 2 kicker in the 2027 class, and Malpress is considered a top-20 edge rusher nationwide. On a different note, Beachside senior Sebastian Stodel earned the title of Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Weightlifting after setting a state record in the 154-pound division. The baseball postseason awards were also announced, with local athletes earning first-team All-State honors, including Cole Dennis, Brayden Harris, and Jordan Martinez, who are all pursuing college baseball careers.
