Former Astros general manager Dana Brown defends Jeff Bagwell

Former Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown publicly defended Jeff Bagwell during a media appearance on Tuesday. Brown, who was dismissed by the organization on Aug. 24, described the Hall of Famer as a valuable baseball man with deep knowledge of the game. Bagwell has faced criticism from portions of the fan base regarding his influence on front-office decisions, including previous roster acquisitions. During his interview, Brown also praised Astros owner Jim Crane and manager Joe Espada. While the team manages operations in the absence of a permanent general manager, Brown stated he has no hard feelings toward the franchise. He indicated this appearance would be among his final media engagements for the immediate future.
