Former Braves outfielder Jarred Kelenic signs with Yankees on minor league deal

Jarred Kelenic has joined the New York Yankees after being cut by the Texas Rangers. The former Atlanta Braves outfielder signed a minor league contract and has been assigned to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Kelenic had a challenging season, appearing in only 24 games for the Braves in 2025, following a stronger 2024 season in which he played 131 games. With a crowded Yankees outfield featuring Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham, and Aaron Judge, Kelenic's opportunities at the major league level may be limited. However, he hopes to take advantage of any openings that might arise, especially with roster expansions approaching in September.
