Former Braves pitcher stops knife threat to protect high school players

Kevin Lomon, a former Atlanta Braves pitcher and current head coach, intervened during a knife threat at a hotel in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on a recent game trip with his team. One of Lomon's players reported an intoxicated man with a knife in the hallway. Lomon instructed his players to stay inside their rooms, contacted the police, and confronted the man, who allegedly approached him with the weapon. After a physical struggle, Lomon subdued the attacker until police arrived. No injuries were reported among the players, and the suspect was arrested on charges of assault and public intoxication.
