Former Colorado Avalanche players join new organizations for 2026-27 season

Following an offseason of roster turnover, numerous former Colorado Avalanche players have secured contracts with new clubs. Depth forwards Joel Kiviranta and Zakhar Bardakov returned to their respective former teams, with Kiviranta signing a one-year deal with the Dallas Stars and Bardakov joining SKA in the KHL. Victor Olofsson signed a one-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights after previously departing Colorado via trade. The Nashville Predators added depth defenseman Jack Ahcan on a two-year, two-way contract, while other minor league contributors including Jason Polin, Jacob MacDonald, and Matt Stienburg secured new deals with Pittsburgh, Washington, and Vancouver, respectively. Defenseman Nick Blankenburg remains unsigned and is expected to attend the Toronto Maple Leafs training camp on a professional try-out agreement. These departures come as the Avalanche roster settles ahead of training camps beginning next week.
