Former Dolphins running back Sammy Price dies at age 82

Sammy Price, a former running back for the Miami Dolphins, passed away on August 5 at the age of 82. His death was confirmed by Mike Pearson, the former Sports Information Director at Illinois, where Price played college football from 1963 to 1965. Price was known for catching the first touchdown pass thrown by Bob Griese on September 17, 1967, during a victory over the Denver Broncos. He played three NFL seasons with the Dolphins from 1966 to 1968, finishing with one career touchdown reception. Prior to his NFL career, Price helped lead the Illinois Fighting Illini to a Rose Bowl victory in 1964.
