Former Duke basketball players scrimmage with current team in Durham

Several former Duke basketball players returned to campus to participate in informal scrimmages with members of the current roster this week. The sessions included NBA players Paolo Banchero, Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum, Jared McCain, and Jabari Parker, as well as Cooper Flagg. Boston Celtics assistant coach Amile Jefferson also participated in the workouts. These gatherings serve as part of the team's ongoing preparation as the program readies itself for the upcoming season. Current players such as Caleb Foster, John Blackwell, Cayden Boozer, Deron Rippey, Dame Sarr, Drew Scharnowski, Bryson Howard, Cameron Williams, Maxime Meyer, Patrick Ngongba, and Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje shared the court with the visiting alumni to gain experience. The visit reflects the established practice of former players maintaining ties with the program through summer and early autumn training sessions.
