Former Golden State Warriors employees file discrimination lawsuit against the franchise

Two former Golden State Warriors employees filed a lawsuit against the organization on August 25 in San Francisco County’s Superior Court of California. Lisa Shelley, formerly an associate general counsel, and Jennifer Vasquez, a former vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion, allege they faced workplace harassment, retaliation, and discrimination based on gender and race. The complaint centers on their experiences leading up to their eventual termination from the franchise. Both women are seeking damages for lost wages and emotional distress. Additionally, the legal filing requests a permanent injunction to prevent the Warriors from engaging in further discriminatory practices against staff. The lawsuit remains pending in court.
