Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez enters guilty plea in assault case

Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez has entered a guilty plea following an assault incident in Indianapolis last October. The 39-year-old was originally charged with felony battery, misdemeanor battery, misdemeanor public intoxication, and misdemeanor unlawful entry. The incident occurred on the morning of October 4, 2025, while Sanchez was in the city to work as a color commentator for a broadcast of a game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders. Following the event, which led to his departure from Fox Sports, legal representatives confirmed a resolution has been reached with the prosecutor’s office. No formal plea deal has been filed with the court, and a trial date had previously been scheduled for next week. Sanchez played for multiple NFL teams during his career, including the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and Washington Commanders.
