Former Reds figures attend the 41st Joe Nuxhall memorial golf outing

The 41st annual Joe Nuxhall memorial golf outing took place recently, drawing a field of 36 foursomes and numerous figures associated with the Cincinnati Reds. Participants included Marty Brennaman, Andrew Abbott, Billy Hatcher, Scott Williamson, Doug Flynn, Dave Miley, Jim Tracy, Tommy Thrall, and Joe Zerhusen. Presented by Playground Equipment Services, the event serves as a fundraiser for the Fairfield Community Foundation. Proceeds provide scholarship money to college-bound student athletes in Butler County, with the initiative having distributed more than $1 million to date. The outing honors the legacy of Joe Nuxhall, a Reds Hall of Famer and former broadcaster. Following the golf event, a 21-mile walk is scheduled for September 4 from the Groh Lane Miracle League fields to Great American Ball Park to generate additional support for the Joe Nuxhall Foundation.
