Former Tennessee Titans scout Blaise Taylor receives two consecutive life sentences

Former Tennessee Titans scout and Arkansas State defensive back Blaise Taylor was sentenced to two consecutive life terms and an additional 22 years in prison on Wednesday. A Nashville jury convicted Taylor on July 1 of multiple counts, including first-degree felony murder of his pregnant girlfriend, Jade Benning, and the first-degree murder of her unborn child. Prosecutors presented evidence that Taylor poisoned Benning on February 25, 2023, by adding cocaine to her drink. Benning died on March 6, 2023, while her fetus died two days after the poisoning. Taylor’s attorney, Letitia Quinones-Hollins, stated that the defense intends to appeal the sentencing, describing the trial as flawed. Taylor previously served as a scout for the Titans and a defensive analyst for Utah State following his playing career at Arkansas State.
