The University of Texas men’s basketball program confirmed the death of former standout Jason Klotz at age 44. No cause of death was provided for the former player, who spent five years with the Longhorns from 2000 to 2005. During his collegiate career, Klotz was a four-year letterwinner and contributed to five NCAA Tournament appearances. He played in 128 games for the program, helping the team reach three Sweet 16 rounds and the 2003 Final Four. His 131 total games played ranked fifth in school history at the time of his departure. Funeral services for the Houston native are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Houston.
