Former Titans scout Blaise Taylor receives consecutive life sentences

Former Tennessee Titans scout Blaise Taylor was sentenced Wednesday to consecutive life terms in prison following his conviction for the murders of his girlfriend, Jade Benning, and their unborn child, Ivy. A jury found Taylor guilty of the charges on July 1. During the sentencing hearing, Nashville assistant district attorney Jan Norman addressed 87 character reference letters submitted by the defense, noting that none of the authors acknowledged the victims in their correspondence. Defense attorney Letitia Quinones-Hollins expressed disappointment with the court's decision, describing the trial as flawed and citing the case as tenuous. Quinones-Hollins confirmed that the defense intends to file an appeal. Taylor remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.
