Former UFC fighter Marlon Moraes detains man during Florida traffic stop

Body camera footage from March 27 shows former UFC title challenger Marlon Moraes detaining a man during a traffic stop in Florida. Moraes, who has worked as an officer for the Coral Springs Police Department since 2024, encountered a driver who verbally challenged him. After the individual took a step toward the officer, Moraes tripped him to the pavement and received assistance from other officers to complete an arrest. The video recently surfaced online, though the initial cause for the traffic stop remains undisclosed. Moraes retired from professional fighting in 2023 but returned to the cage in 2025. He recently earned a unanimous decision victory over Maximilliano Perez at LMC 2 in Brazil on August 28, marking his first win in seven years.
