Former Warriors employees sue franchise over workplace discrimination allegations

Two former Golden State Warriors employees filed a lawsuit in San Francisco County Superior Court on August 25 alleging gender and racial discrimination, workplace harassment, and retaliation. The plaintiffs, Lisa Shelley and Jennifer Vasquez, claim they faced a hostile environment that included the dismissal of their professional ideas and derogatory comments regarding female staff. The complaint centers on allegations against former senior vice president of people and culture Erin Dangerfield, who was recently promoted to chief people officer. Both plaintiffs report they were terminated after raising internal concerns about Dangerfield and the organization. In response, the Golden State Warriors issued a statement denying all allegations as false, misleading, and unsupported by evidence. The franchise indicated it intends to vigorously defend against the lawsuit, noting that previous internal investigations into these claims found no merit.
