Former Western Michigan player proposes financial settlement after officiating controversy

The Mid-American Conference sought an overturned result through the NCAA, but officials declined to intervene, citing rules that categorize end-of-game decisions as final. While the NCAA rejected the appeal, it updated clock protocols to require the use of the stadium’s broadcast clock in future officiating. The Big Ten also announced it will broadcast live-look replay deliberations during games throughout the current season.
