Fort Smith to host first National Black Rodeo USA event on August 22

Fort Smith, Arkansas, will welcome its inaugural Black Rodeo USA event on August 22 at Kay Rodgers Park. The event will showcase regional competitors in traditional rodeo events such as steer wrestling and bull riding, alongside cultural activities. Black Rodeo USA aims to celebrate the contributions of African Americans to rodeo history, with this year's theme focusing on reclaiming and reimagining that legacy. An autograph session and meet-and-greet are planned for the same day, leading up to the main event which begins at 5:30 p.m. Organizers will also crown the next Miss Black Rodeo USA during the evening.
