Four Corners edges out Plankinton in District 3B amateur baseball

In an 11-inning thriller at the District 3B amateur baseball tournament in Chamberlain, S.D., Four Corners secured a 9-8 walk-off victory over Plankinton. The game was tied 8-8 entering the final inning, but Garrett Stout's RBI single clinched the win after Devin Mehlhaff's RBI single extended the game for Plankinton in the ninth. Despite being outhit 15-11 and committing three errors, Four Corners benefited from a solid relief performance by Noah Hainy. Other results from the tournament included Kimball/White Lake defeating Chamberlain 15-0, Burke shutting out Colome 3-0, and Winner Demons edging Wessington Springs 8-7. The tournament continues Sunday with elimination games for Chamberlain and Plankinton.
