Framber Valdez returns to Tigers, Beau Brieske sent to Triple-A

Framber Valdez has been reinstated from the bereavement list by the Detroit Tigers before their game against the Los Angeles Angels on July 18. In a corresponding move, right-handed reliever Beau Brieske has been optioned to Triple-A Toledo. Valdez is expected to start against the Chicago Cubs on July 20. The Tigers also plan to keep right-hander Brenan Hanifee with the team, following his recent call-up. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch spoke about needing to make roster adjustments with Valdez’s return.
