Frank Reich details Indianapolis reluctance to trade Adonai Mitchell to New York

Frank Reich confirmed that the Indianapolis organization maintained high regard for Adonai Mitchell before the receiver was included in a 2025 trade for Sauce Gardner. Although the Jets successfully acquired the receiver, Reich noted that Indianapolis general manager Chris Ballard and other staff members were initially unwilling to part with him. The Indianapolis organization reportedly valued the player's attention to detail and his approach to daily repetitions during practice. Since the trade, Adonai Mitchell recorded 24 catches for 301 yards and two touchdowns in eight games with the Jets. This output represented a shift from his time in Indianapolis, where he logged 32 receptions for 464 yards over 25 games. Reich suggests that the receiver is expected to continue his development in the coming season following the trade between the two teams.
