Freddy Peralta continued to have a challenging season for the New York Mets, failing to complete five innings in his latest start against the Boston Red Sox. He allowed two earned runs on three hits, with the runs coming from a two-run homer in the fourth inning. Despite striking out six, Peralta's five walks caused issues, which has been a recurring problem this season. Manager Andy Green expressed encouragement over the velocity of Peralta's fastball and the swings-and-misses he generated, noting the need for better control moving forward. Peralta, now 5-8 with a 4.66 ERA, recognizes the urgency to improve as the trade deadline approaches.
