Free agent quarterback Will Levis works out for the New York Jets

Free agent quarterback Will Levis participated in a workout for the New York Jets on September 3. The workout followed his release by the Tennessee Titans on August 30, after which he cleared waivers. The Jets currently have Geno Smith and Cade Klubnik on their 53-man roster, with Bailey Zappe on the practice squad. During the same session, the Jets also evaluated former Panthers quarterback Jack Plummer. Levis, a 2023 second-round draft pick, made 21 starts for the Titans before missing the 2025 season due to shoulder surgery. He subsequently lost the backup quarterback role to Mitchell Trubisky during the recent preseason. The New York Jets are scheduled to open their regular season against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on September 13.
