Freeport's Athiei Dhal earns national recognition from ESPN

Freeport freshman Athiei Dhal has been recognized by ESPN’s SportsCenter NEXT, ranking No. 21 in the Class of 2029. Dhal is listed as the third-best post player in the nation and second in Florida, following only Leila Bryant of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. Over the course of 27 games, she averaged 27.4 points, 14 rebounds, and six blocks per game, shooting an impressive 69% from the field. Dhal, already attracting attention from major programs, has received scholarship offers from Ohio State and Southern Methodist University. This recognition caps off an outstanding freshman season.
