French team returns on charter plane linked to deportation flights

After their World Cup victory against Paraguay, the French national team flew back to their Boston base camp on a chartered plane from Global X, which has been associated with numerous ICE deportation flights. Reports reveal that the aircraft has conducted 44 deportation flights in 2026 alone, with one occurring just three days prior to the team's departure on July 4th. This revelation aligns with the team's known political activism, as players like Kylian Mbappe and Marcus Thuram have openly opposed far-right politics in France. Both Global X and the French football federation have not commented on the findings, raising questions among critics of deportation policies.
