Freshman Aubrey Green contributes for Austin in multiple sports

Austin freshman Aubrey Green is competing in high school soccer this season after success in cross country and hockey. Green, who previously finished 27th in the Section 1A cross country meet, scored her first goal of the season during a 1-1 tie against Albert Lea on Tuesday. Austin head coach Dave Bahr noted that Green brings strong stamina and physical power to the pitch, despite the different demands of soccer compared to distance running. She also played as a top scorer for the Austin hockey team last winter and competed for the track and field program. Green, who cited her experience in other sports as a boost to her endurance and mental toughness, is currently integrating with the older players on the roster. The team next travels to face Faribault on Thursday at 7 p.m.
