Frustrated kick leads to run-out, tying match and forcing Super Over

In a dramatic finish at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on August 4, the New Delhi Tigers and Outer Delhi Warriors ended their match tied at 155 runs each, leading to the first Super Over of the DPL 2026. Tigers captain Himmat Singh accidentally kicked the ball onto the stumps, running out the last man and leveling the scores. Singh had earlier scored 61 runs from 25 balls to help his team post 156/5 in 15 overs. The Warriors, needing just one run off the final two balls, were denied victory by the errant kick. In the Super Over, the Warriors scored 20 runs, and the Tigers were bowled out for 15 runs, allowing the Warriors to secure the win.
