Florida State University baseball has secured a commitment from Nick Barron, a former starter at Northwestern, to strengthen their first base position. Barron, who started 51 games as a true freshman, brings a.295 batting average, nine home runs, and 33 RBIs. Following the draft loss of Myles Bailey to the Chicago Cubs, Barron is the leading candidate for the starting role.
