Funny cars, known for their incredible power, often require a rebuild after each run down the drag strip, which takes about four seconds to complete. Capable of generating up to 11,000 horsepower, these engines endure extreme stress and typically last for only a fraction of a minute in total use. While some engines may endure up to five runs, the total running time remains significantly low. The fastest funny car currently recorded reached 341.68 mph, achieved by Bob Tasca III's Mustang-esque model in 2024. The engines used in funny cars share similarities with those in Top Fuel dragsters, but are mounted in shorter wheelbases and have unique body designs.
