Furman names Jake Garcia starting QB for Tennessee season opener

Furman University has named Jake Garcia as its starting quarterback for the upcoming game against Tennessee on September 5. Garcia, a graduate student transfer from Michigan, competed against three other candidates and was chosen based on his impressive work ethic and leadership. Coach Clay Hendrix praised Garcia's ability to make throws and keep plays alive. Furman will first face Anderson University on August 27, as they prepare for their opener.
