Gabrielle Black defers enrollment to Utah gymnastics for Olympic training

Five-star recruit Gabrielle Black and the University of Utah gymnastics program announced Friday that the incoming freshman has deferred her enrollment. The Canadian national team member intends to dedicate her training time to preparing for the 2028 Olympic games. Black is the second recruit from the 2026 class to postpone joining the team, following Madison Denlinger, who is also training for the Los Angeles Games. Despite these deferments, the Red Rocks roster retains freshmen Ayla Miller and Léonie Gervais. The program bolstered its squad with the addition of graduate transfers Lilly Tubbs and Arielle Ward.
