Gadsden Times opens voting for weekly boys high school athlete honors

The Gadsden Times has opened voting for its boys athlete of the week poll covering the period from August 29 through September 4. The nomination list includes standout performers from Alabama High School Athletic Association sports. Nominees are chosen based on statistical achievements submitted by coaches and team stat keepers from the previous week. Players appearing on the ballot include Collinsville’s Mason McAteer, Etowah’s Zackery Winston, Gaston’s Zyien Dupree, Geraldine’s Jon Beck Wade, Plainview’s Mac Long, and Westbrook Christian’s Brody Blevins. Members of the public can cast votes online until the poll closes at noon on Thursday. This ballot follows last week’s results, in which Brody Blevins received 57% of the total vote.
