Chief executive Matt Boles stated that these approaches were not made on behalf of the club and urged the responsible party to cease the activity immediately. Other officials flagged the fraudulent messages after recognizing that the conduct did not align with professional standards. The club confirmed these communications were fake and has warned the wider non-league community of the ongoing impersonation. Gainsborough Trinity is scheduled to play Leamington away in FA Cup qualifying on September 19.
