García and Lile each hit two home runs in Nationals' 9-5 victory over Pirates

Luis García Jr. and Daylen Lile each homered twice as the Washington Nationals defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-5 on July 3. García opened the scoring with a solo shot in the first inning, followed by Lile's 417-foot home run in the second. The Nationals extended their lead with a two-run homer from José Tena and later more contributions from García and Lile. Despite a late rally from the Pirates, which included a home run from Bryan Reynolds, the Nationals secured the win. Foster Griffin improved to 9-2 for the season, allowing one run over five innings. The teams meet again on July 4, with Zack Littell taking the mound for the Nationals against the Pirates' Braxton Ashcraft.
