Garrett Whitlock faces possible injured list stint due to elbow issue

Summary

The Red Sox's interim manager Chad Tracy indicated the issue has been developing over the past weeks, coinciding with a heavy workload during July. Whitlock has pitched 44 innings this season with a 2.05 ERA. He reported feeling tightness after his latest outing against the Athletics on August 9, which was his first blown save since late July.
