Gavin Hampton commits to Mississippi State football for 2027 class

Gavin Hampton, a 6-foot-4, 207-pound quarterback from Riverdale, announced his commitment to Mississippi State for the 2027 recruiting class on June 19. He chose the Bulldogs after receiving offers from North Carolina, Arizona State, Nebraska, and Colorado. Hampton, rated as a 3-star prospect and among the top-50 quarterbacks in his class, recently reclassified, with 2026 set as his final high school season. He is the second quarterback commitment for Mississippi State in this class. Hampton was named the Region 3-6A Offensive MVP in 2025, accumulating 2,663 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
