Gavin McKenna selects No. 92 for Maple Leafs next season

Gavin McKenna has announced he will wear No. 92 next season for the Toronto Maple Leafs. This decision comes after his preferred No. 72 was claimed by new teammate Sergei Bobrovsky, and both his backup choices, 27 and 9, are retired numbers. McKenna explained that No. 92 is a nod to the numbers nine and 27 that are in the rafters, combining elements of both. He will be only the fourth player in Maple Leafs history to wear this number. McKenna has also signed an entry-level contract with the team, further solidifying his place ahead of the upcoming season.
