Geelong defender Jake Kolodjashnij retires at 31 after concussion issues

Jake Kolodjashnij has been medically retired by Geelong due to ongoing concussion issues at age 31. A key member of the team, Kolodjashnij played 209 AFL games, including two Grand Finals and was part of the 2022 premiership side. Last season, he made 11 appearances and faced scrutiny related to a concussion form. Following a review, he did not participate in the VFL finals or any later club activities. His departure was confirmed by Cats football boss Andrew Mackie, who praised Kolodjashnij's contributions both on and off the field.
