George Kittle nears 49ers return for Week 1 game in Australia

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is expected to play in the team's Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams in Australia. Kittle has been recovering from an Achilles injury sustained during the team's wild card victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Brock Purdy noted that Kittle maintained a rigorous rehabilitation schedule throughout the summer. Offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak indicated that Kittle is slated to participate barring any late setbacks. The return of Kittle provides a significant target for the 49ers offense as the team prepares for its NFC West divisional opener. This development follows a recovery process that included training sessions in California, Tennessee, and team camp settings.
