George Lopez disassociates from Dodgers over Mark Walter's business ties

Grammy-winning actor and comedian George Lopez has announced he is stepping away from supporting the Los Angeles Dodgers due to the team's owner, Mark Walter, having ties to for-profit detention centers. Lopez stated his discomfort stems not only from these business practices but also from the history of Dodgers Stadium's construction, which involved the displacement of a Latino community. The protests against Walter's connection to such practices have intensified among fans, reflecting broader community issues. Meanwhile, Walter is reportedly under federal investigation regarding potential financial improprieties linked to his insurance companies.
