Georgia Tech cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe leaves game against Tennessee on a stretcher

Georgia Tech cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe was taken off the field on a stretcher during the third quarter of a game against Tennessee on September 12 at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The injury occurred at the 14:17 mark while Tennessee led 24-10. Mbakwe collided with Georgia Tech defensive end Jordan Walker, who also left the game with a lower body injury. Medical staff tended to Mbakwe on the field before he was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for further evaluation. During the departure, Mbakwe demonstrated movement by gripping a trainer's hand and signaling to the crowd. Play was temporarily stopped following the incident, which occurred while Tennessee maintained possession of the ball.
